The project: 
The risk support will be responsible for supporting the risk lead in developing a risk reporting framework to comprehensively report on risks including the following: operational risks, strategic risks and retained risks. The role holder shall provide leadership in risk and opportunity management throughout the delivery of MetroLink, assisting the risk lead in ensuring that the risk and opportunity management processes are in place and being complied with across the project, including by the project delivery partner and the appointed contractor. The risk support will also assist in ensuring that there is a focus on the provision of timely and high-quality information, guidance and specialist advice on risk management across MetroLink. The role holder will also ensure processes are continuously improved to ensure that they are practical, embedded and connected to all key stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the risk performance on assigned commissions under the direction of more senior risk professionals.

  • Assisting with the effective implementation of risk framework/strategy on assigned projects.

  • Building strong professional relationships with Client representatives.

  • Supporting the Project team in the administration of the risk process, particularly concerning the risks to the achievement of key objectives.

  • Assisting with the facilitation and delivery of risk workshops such as scribe.

  • Contributing to the delivery of monthly risk reports, externally to the Client and internally to the Project team.

  • Supporting the alignment of all activities/operations to the Mace Control Centre, Client requirements and any other prevailing legislation.

  • Contributing to the integration of risk with PMO and Planning disciplines. 

  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

  • Designing and implementing risk management frameworks within a PMO function.

  • Overseeing risk and opportunity management in major project environments to enable the achievement of project goals and objectives. 

You’ll need to have:

  • University degree or equivalent in a related discipline.

  • In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural / engineering/construction sectors.

  • Dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of processes and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.

  • Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.

  • In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural / engineering/construction sectors.

You’ll also have:

  • Good influencing skills to manage and motivate teams in support of delivery of high-risk, value and complex projects and programme. 

  • Ability to coordinate and organize multiple sources of reporting inputs/performance data and deliver project/programme reports as required. 

  • An ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high-quality service. 

  • Knowledge of risk management principles, methods, techniques, systems, and toolkits.
