I’ve been surrounded by construction from a young age – my father was always renovating homes when I was a child, so I practically grew up around building sites. Watching him transform spaces and then seeing the impact those changes had on how people lived sparked a deep interest in the built environment for me. That early exposure to construction drove a passion in me for how spaces can shape people’s experiences, improve lives and redefine the way we interact with the world, and I knew I wanted to be part of the same thing.

What do you enjoy most about your current role at Mace Consult?

How do you redefine the boundaries of ambition?

For me, it’s about bringing the full breadth of Mace Consult’s expertise to our clients, in whatever way we can, to really push, challenge, and unlock better ways of achieving their objectives. I’m driven by a mindset of continuous improvement - always asking how we can do things better, faster, or smarter. That means being curious, challenging convention, and being relentless in the pursuit of being better. Mace Consult is a place to embrace new ideas and technologies, including AI, to unlock more innovative, efficient, and impactful ways of delivering outcomes.

What has been your proudest achievement at Mace Consult so far?

Two moments stand out. First, being part of the Hong Kong and APAC Senior Leadership Team - it’s been exciting to see our footprint expand and our influence deepen as we help to shape Mace Consult’s strategic growth across the region. Second, contributing to the winning bid for Civil Engineering Development Department (CEDD’s) Northern Metropolis giga-project. Securing that opportunity was a major milestone, positioning Mace Consult as a leading consultancy in the region and demonstrating the strength of our integrated offer.

What motivates you every day?

It’s the variety and scale of the challenges that come with developing and working on the world’s biggest and most complex projects. What skills do you need to be good at your job?

Success in this role calls for strong technical expertise, backed by hands-on project experience and a deep understanding of client needs. But it’s also about mindset - being proactive and driven to see challenges as opportunities to innovate, with an unwavering desire to make a positive difference. Curiosity, open-mindedness, and a willingness to embrace new ideas and technologies are key. Above all, it’s about leading with empathy, fostering an inclusive culture, and believing in the power of winning as a team.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into what you do?

Stay curious and speak to as many people in the industry as possible, to explore different paths and perspectives. Believe you can! Seize opportunities to invest in your development, build strong networks, and take on diverse projects to grow your experience. Be open to feedback, back yourself, and grab opportunities that build professional credibility and insights - especially those that stretch your perspective.

How have you defined your personal purpose, and how has your role at Mace Consult empowered you to pursue it?

My purpose is to be the best professional I can be, delivering trusted advice to clients and building inclusive, high-performing teams. Mace Consult empowers me to do that every day, by driving growth across APAC as the number one Consultancy in the region, and creating world-class opportunities for our people with ambitions that have no limits.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I’m a lifelong Rugby Union fan, having played and managed, and now supporting from the sidelines. I also love to travel and explore new cultures, and I value time spent with my grown-up family whenever we can get together.

If you hadn’t got into this line of work what do you think you might be doing?

Like many, sport was my first ambition. I dreamed of being a professional rugby player wearing the left-wing No.11 shirt before eventually moving into coaching. While that path didn’t materialise, the teamwork, discipline and leadership I learned through rugby have definitely shaped how I work today.
